Equestrian Movement

Pilates for riders,
off the horse.

Equestrian movement work uses the classical apparatus to develop an independent seat, better symmetry and clearer posture — without the horse paying the price for a crooked seat, locked hip or collapsed rib cage.

Pilates for riders,

What we work on

Independent seat, symmetry, posture.

Sessions focus on the deep hip and pelvic organisation that produces an independent seat; the thoracic mobility that allows an honest, upright posture in the saddle; and the shoulder and hand independence that lets contact be soft, not held. We use reformer, Cadillac and chair together — the springs mimic the give-and-take of a horse's movement more closely than any floor-based work.

Who this is for

Amateur through professional.

We work with dressage riders on symmetry and thoracic articulation, event riders on core stability and shock absorption through the lower leg, and hunters and hackers on the everyday posture that keeps riding sustainable through middle age and beyond.
