A warm welcome
You do not need to be flexible, strong or experienced to begin — you only need to arrive. The first session is spent listening, watching how you move and choosing where to start.
II — Before you arrive
So we can show you the studio, introduce your teacher and let you settle in without hurry.
Anything you can move in — leggings, a fitted top, and grip socks if you have them.
Plenty of space on the Thorpe Estate, directly outside the studio. No permit or ticket needed. Routes from nearby towns are on our Getting to Coconut page.
Mats, props and apparatus are all provided — just bring yourself.
Injuries, recent surgery, pregnancy, anything ongoing — on the intake form or by email beforehand. It helps your teacher plan properly.
III — What the first visit looks like
Your Introduction begins with a 50-minute private session. Your teacher will ask about your movement history, any injuries and what has brought you to Pilates, then work through a short foundation sequence — some mat, some reformer, some breathing — so they can see how you move and choose a sensible starting point.
Your next visit is a group class at the level your teacher suggests, so you can see how the studio teaches in a small group before deciding anything.
You leave with a clear sense of the method, how the studio works, and what your teacher recommends for the months ahead. There is no pressure to book anything further before you have left.
IV — After you leave
A short note from your teacher — what you worked on, what to notice this week, and what to try at home.
A second private, a small group class, or a membership that suits how you like to train — offered once, and taken up only if it suits you.
One considered letter a month — new journal entries, workshop dates and studio news. Only if you ask for it.

Join a membership within seven days and £50 comes off your first month, or £37.50 each if you came as a pair.
