Post-Partum Rehabilitation
Post-partum rehabilitation,
patiently sequenced.
The six-week check clears you for exercise. It does not mean you are ready. Jade is post-partum qualified, and Coconut is set up to meet a body that has been through something enormous — patiently, in sequence, and with the right apparatus.

During pregnancy
Strength you will need.
Pregnancy changes your centre of gravity, lengthens and weakens your deep abdominals, and places sustained load on your pelvic floor. We work with breath, posture, pelvic organisation and the deep abdominal system through each trimester — adapting the apparatus rather than avoiding it.
What happens post-partum
The re-education of the deep core.
The deep core — transversus abdominis, pelvic floor, multifidus — needs to be re-educated, not just exercised. There is a specific sequence to rebuilding: breathing mechanics first, then deep core activation, then loading through the pelvic floor, then global strength.
We take steps one to three slowly before moving on to step four. Many symptoms after pregnancy are common, but they are not something you simply have to live with — the right support, alongside your GP or women's health physio, can make a real difference.
Why the apparatus matters
The reformer, Cadillac and chair.
The classical apparatus allows us to work with your body at its current capacity and progress it intelligently. Springs provide support or resistance depending on what is needed. We can work on deep core recruitment before adding any load, monitor how your pelvic floor responds, and adjust in the same session.
When to come and see us
From around eight weeks.
We work with women from around eight weeks post-partum, though we recommend a pelvic-floor physiotherapy assessment first if you have any concerns — we work closely with local pelvic-health physios and can point you in the right direction. We also work with women years or even decades after birth. It is never too late to rebuild.
