Standards
This page is maintained by Coconut to describe how this website is built and what it commits to. It is not an independent certification — it is a plain statement of the standards we hold ourselves to.
I
A core principle
Nobody should leave Coconut thinking 'that was a great website'. They should leave thinking 'that felt effortless'. The best technology disappears. If a decision creates friction, it has failed.
II — Build principles
First Contentful Paint under 1.8s, Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5s, Interaction to Next Paint under 200ms, Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1. Images never delay the experience.
WCAG 2.2 AA is the minimum. Keyboard navigation, visible focus states, meaningful alt text, accessible forms, colour contrast and screen-reader compatibility across every route.
HTTPS everywhere, secure payment processing through BSport and Stripe, form validation, spam protection, automated backups and role-based permissions with two-factor for administrators.
Semantic HTML, per-route metadata, canonical URLs, JSON-LD (Article, Product, FAQPage, LocalBusiness), sitemap and robots. Written to be understood by both people and machines.
Designed for the phone first, then adapted. Large touch targets, thumb-friendly layouts, sticky booking, minimal pop-ups. Everything works with one hand.
A small, considered feature set beats a large, cluttered one. Every component is reusable; every page is composed from the same design system.
Component-based architecture the team can extend without rebuilding. Routine content — journal entries, teachers, workshops — updated without a developer.
III — Platform
The website is built on a modern component-based framework, deployed to a global edge network with automatic HTTPS. Bookings, memberships, waitlists, gift vouchers, class credits, workshops and payments are powered by BSport, visually integrated so the transition between the site and the booking flow is almost invisible. Payments run through Stripe.
Analytics track meaningful behaviour rather than vanity metrics — first bookings, membership conversions, journal engagement, video completion, search usage and newsletter sign-ups. Every report should answer 'what did we learn?', not 'how many people visited?'
IV — Data & privacy
Only what is needed to run the studio — your booking, membership and communication history through BSport; enquiries you send us; newsletter sign-ups where you have opted in.
We do not sell data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run behavioural retargeting across the web. Analytics are aggregate, not individually profiled.
The site uses only essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. Any non-essential tracking is disabled until you consent.
You can request access, correction or deletion of your data at any time by writing to hello@coconutwellnessstudios.com. We respond within thirty days.
V — Accessibility statement
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as a minimum. Every page is keyboard navigable, uses meaningful landmarks and heading structure, provides visible focus states and clear link text, and meets required colour-contrast ratios. Photography carries descriptive alt text; videos will carry captions and transcripts where practical.
If you encounter a page that is difficult to use, please write to us at hello@coconutwellnessstudios.com — we treat accessibility reports as priority work.
VI — Quality gate
Tested on current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge — desktop and mobile.
iPhone, Android and iPad at their common breakpoints, plus laptop and large-desktop widths.
Automated audits plus manual keyboard-only walk-throughs on the primary journeys — booking, contact, journal, memberships.
Core Web Vitals measured on both mobile and desktop; regressions block release.
Per-route metadata reviewed; JSON-LD validated; sitemap and robots checked.
Full booking flow end-to-end; contact and enquiry forms verified; broken-link scan.
VII
The Coconut standard
Before introducing any technology we ask five questions. Does it make life easier for the client? Does it support our teaching? Does it simplify the experience? Can we maintain it confidently? Will it still be valuable in five years? If not, it does not belong.
